Joik Soy Wax Candle - Caramel & Cinnamon Coffee

Joik is a brand I've used many times before (although not for ages!) I bought their advent calendar 2 years ago which was fantastic. This years Advent is still available to buy through the Joik website here. The advent calendar I bought in 2017 contained a soy wax candle in the scent Spiced Cranberry, which is a super christmassy fragrance! I wanted to try out more from the collection so I choose to test Caramel & Cinnamon Coffee* (£13.50), which is a delicious blend of freshly brewed coffee, spicy cinnamon, creamy vanilla and sweet caramel.

This candle should last around 30 hours of burn time. Soy wax burns cleaner than paraffin wax candles as well as lasting up to 50% longer. Soy wax is a natural wax from the renewable resource soybeans. Joik uses high quality cosmetics grade fragrance oils which give the candles a true pleasant aroma while burning. I can attest that the fragrance is just like its name. My two favourite things are coffee and caramel so this candle smells abs…

Love Lula Beauty Box November

It's my favourite time of the month when my Love Lula Beauty Box* arrives! There is a great mix of products this month, one of which has come in very handy from day 1! There are 4 full sized products this month, plus a few samples. Let's take a look inside....

First up is the product I have been using every day since my box arrived. Madara Hemp Hemp Lip Conditioning Balm (15ml £10). A hydrating and nourishing lip balm, which helps protect lips from the harsh elements of winter months. My lips have been super dry this month, so this balm has been a lifesaver.

I brand I have many products from and would recommend is Ayumi. The Organic Coconut Enriched Hair Oil (150ml £7.99) is a moisturising treatment to nourish, condition and soften hair. To use massage the oil in to scalp for 15-20 mins before applying to the rest of the hair and leave for 45 mins or overnight for an intensive treatment.  Wash out and enjoy soft hair.
I was surprised to see a face oil this month as we only re…

PHB Ethical Beauty Bare Skin BB Cream - Shade Fair

On the lead up to my wedding I didn't want to use a heavy foundation on my skin daily for fear of breaking out so I decided to use a BB cream instead. This also meant I would be able to have something light for on my skin whilst in Rhodes on honeymoon. I looked at a few different brands but in the end decided on PHB Ethical Beauty Bare Skin BB Cream* (£20) which has a new look and new formulation with key ingredients Aloe Vera and Rosehip Oil as well as an SPF of 15 to provide some sun protection.

The BB Cream comes in a decent size 30ml glass bottle and is available in 7 shades. I have very pale skin so I choose the shade Fair as I though Porcelain may have been too light for me. After using the BB cream however I think I would of gotten away with either.

Key Ingredients
Rosehip Oil - Packed with essential fatty acids and Vitamin A to moisturise skin. Helps improve skin texture, lighten pigmentation and reduce acne scarring with regular and consistent use.

Aloe Vera: Rich in prote…

Love Lula October Beauty Box

This month I was a bit late in opening my box. As I was on holiday from work due to my wedding and honeymoon, I had the box sent to my house instead of work where it usually goes. Of course I missed the postie the day it was delivered (Saturday) so collected it on the Monday which just so happened to be the day I was going on Honeymoon. I was so rushed off my feet making sure I had everything in my suitcase I needed that I had completely forgotten to open my box! It was fab having it for something to look forward to on my return home again however. Anyway enough rambling let's take a look at the contents of October's box.

From Dr Botanicals we have Cocoa & Coconut Superfood Reviving Hydrating Mask 30ml £9.90. containing cocoa butter and coconut oil it is said to hydrate, restore and protect the skin. This is just what my skin needs after being on holiday abroad and not drinking enough water! My skin is needing a hydration boost.

Rahua Hydration Shampoo & Conditioner Review

When I was deciding which shampoo and conditioner I wanted to take on honeymoon with me, Rahua was first in my mind. Rahua Hydration Shampoo* (£8.50) and Rahua Hydration Conditioner* (£9.10) both 60ml, are the perfect travel sizes for a week abroad.

Scented with passion fruit and mango, a rich and creamy formula is created with rare Amazonian oils and natural protein bonding sugars which drive hydration deep into each strand of hair.  This helps to replenish dry, thirsty hair leaving behind stronger, smoother and shinier hair.

My thoughts
I have used these both abroad and at home. When I was in Rhodes my hair, as it usually does, didn't play nice. Think Monica Geller on Friends 'It's the humidity!' Nothing or no one can make my hair look good when I'm in a hot country. Unfortunately this was also true for this shampoo and conditioner duo. Thick and frizzy hair could not be tamed, which I was disappointed with but didn't expect anything less. When I used this hyd…
