Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask

One thing I love about skincare products is a good face mask...who doesn't am I right?! I was very excited this month to be given a chance to test out the Aura Manuka Honey Mask from Antipodes. It is suitable for most skin types, but especially great for blemish prone skin, so perfect for my skin type...in theory.

The Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask* is £26.99 and comes in a 75ml foil tube inside a cardboard box (which can both be recycled!) As a little goes a long way, I can see this mask lasting a good amount of time.

Containing a blend of Manuka Honey, Avocado oil, Carrot oil, Grape Seed extract, Pohutukawa flower extract and vitamin E alongside essential oils of vanilla and mandarin, this face mask is sure to leave skin soothed and deeply hydrated.

Pohutukawa (known as the New Zealand Christmas tree because it flowers gloriously in December) contains antioxidants which help neutralize free radicals, while Manuka Honey contains anti bacterial properties to help heal blemishes, and acts as a natural humectant helping to draw moisture to the skins surface.

To use apply a thick layer of the creamy mask over your face and neck (twice a week) and leave on for 15 minutes before rinsing with warm water. It can also be used to aid the healing of blemishes as they appear.

I will be honest (as that is what reviews are all about right?) the first two times I used this mask it broke me out! I'm not sure if I was having a reaction to an ingredient in the product of if it was just the Manuka Honey drawing out the toxins in my skin to the surface. I didn't want to give up on the mask as I know Manuka is meant to be great for blemishes so decided to keep using it. Thankfully my breakouts were short lived and after I used the mask for the third time my skin felt better and was clean and clear and looking hydrated. I will definitely continue using this mask until its finished.

Have you tried this mask? What was your experience using it?
